ain't nothing gona break my stride....

ain't nothing gona hold me down- oh no... got to keep on moving!!!

Those song lyrics, though I have no idea where they come from, summarize  my attitude toward yesterday.

* Car keys locked in the vehicle- only have one set.
* Husband worked until 2:45 am, and thus needed to sleep most of the morning, taking away from our only family day all week.
* Once we were actually in the vehicle on the way to church, we hit a LONG train and were stuck 'forever.'
* Missed half of church...
* MOSQUITOS! Seriously they could have carried my middle son away. But we persevered and he actually made it out through the yard into the garden without screaming even once.

* Children who hate gardening- it appears I have two kids who hate gardening, and one who can not get enough of it. But we were able to entertain them enough to get some big things done- and the garden half planted :) Gardening shows my children so much about God, so many things about our world and 'science'. It's like a magical miracle for a little one :)

Our new apple trees

Check out this amazing tomato plant- It's called a rainbow tomoto!  I am all about fun in the garden so here goes yet another experiment... we grown purple carrots, and rainbow swiss chard, those purple beans that turn green when you cook them.

* and RAIN - to my sadness, rain is not slowing my husband down today... he adopted my attitude and is planning on working out in the fields today. A little rain won't slow him down. sigh.

This catchy little ditty will be sticking in my head today, and in the coming days I'm sure. I need to toughen up, get a thicker skin, be more joyful in ALL circumstances, persevere though hard days. This song ooooooozes positive attitude. I am not going to be one of those people who knocks others down to get what she wants, but just in my simple, everyday life, in my everyday things...

Ain't nothing going to break my stride, ain't nothing gona hold me down.... oh no- I got to keep on moving!

  1. This song could also be complimented by a round of "I get knocked down, but I get up again... You're never gonna get me down!" ;) xox Holly
